Description: The VP Gameday is responsible for organizing and executing activities that occur on game day. This person should not be a player because of the necessity to be running around before and after the game.

  • Perform play by play commentary
  • Collect stats

Tasks
Insure that the field is open at least seventy five minutes before the start of the game.
Open the change facilities for visiting and home team as well as officials
Make sure the field has the pads on the shed
Make sure the benches are in place and ready to go
Check sideline equipment and insure a group of volunteers to help with sideline work
Check the bathroom facilities are open and clean
Check the set up of food and beverages are in place.
Insure that ticket sales people are in place and ready to work.
Prepare and distribute a program
Put the sound system in place
Set up the scorers table and make sure we have a person to score the game
Get the timer for the clock
Meet the officals and show them their facilities.
Check that announcers are in place
Help to organize the activities at the beginning of the game.
Help to organize the activities for half time
Facilitate and assist events during game such as prizes if appropriate
Put all pads and sideline equipment away at the end of the game

I will work on more ideas and positions. I think we can thin the list and combine the positions. But we do need at least two people on the field at every home game just to keep track and coordinate all the tasks. Doing the tasks are another set of obligations which are more specific. Another task is to insure that medical people are in place including the trainners and Saint John Ambulance folks. The hanging of the Proudfoot banner and game day banners also come to mind. Make sure game balls are provided(2) for each game.
